Summer has officially descended on us, with a heatwave no less! If you have air conditioning, you’re likely hiding indoors during the warmest parts of the day, but once the sun goes down all bets are off. Kettal’s newest outdoor family provides an ideal escape for those evenings spent on the terrace or balcony. Plumon, designed by Patricia Urquiola, in collaboration with large scale 3D printer LAM'AQUINA, found its inspiration in the concept of clothing – dressing and undressing furniture.
The new collection features generous, roomy proportions, with Urquiola pulling from Brazilian influences. Plumon is a light structure that’s essentially fitted with a tailored padded “dress.” The ribbed padding is “moored” to the frame, then characterized by detailed stitching. The tailoring of the sofa and armchair create a space of comfort and aesthetics that might look at home indoors, but is made for outside. A coffee table and side table with bases that resemble a knit sock being pulled on are also part of Plumon. LAM'AQUINA created the legs through the use of an advanced method of 3D stoneware printing. Both tables feature glass tops and are available in white and pink.
