Closing out the final Designer Desktop of 2022 is one of our favorite designers, Jill Malek! We have yet to discover a collection from the studio that we didn’t love and Jill’s latest wallcoverings line, Mystique, is no exception. Inspired by the beauty and wonders of the natural world, the collection of non-repeating patterned murals can be scaled to custom fit a space as they are digitally printed on textured, embossed surfaces. This process gives a space a different feel than traditional wallpaper with repeated lines. The studio can also add dimensional felt accents that are hand-sewn directly into the base material to add tactility and visual depth, creating a bespoke, one-of-a-kind piece of art.
We’re excited to end the year with three downloadable desktop patterns from the Mystique collection: Falcon, inspired by the peregrine falcon; Alpenglow, which is reminiscent of the colors of light reflecting off mountains at dusk; and Orb, which captures the soft, flowing energy of the moon. Each one features the same fitting quote by legendary figure Maya Angelou that speaks about the light, a central theme in Jill Malek’s work: “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.”
