Based in both London and Singapore, Atelier Pendhapa most recently debuted their collectible furniture collection at Zebres during Paris Design Week. The gallery showcased the studio’s core collection of solid black Javanese Teak, which includes a series of chairs, stools, tables, console, sofa, and vessels.
Consistent throughout the forms are broad curves that many times serve both an aesthetic and functional purpose. The circular back of the three-legged Mast chair folds around the body to offer comfort and a sense of privacy.
Alternatively, curves are utilized to create playfulness within an otherwise grounded piece, such as the Khanda coffee table. Separated into three sections, the curves come together like pieces from a puzzle, or can be separated for use individually.
